Belarus on Human Development Index

Belarus ranks 50th (very high human development group) in the UNDP Human Development Index featuring 189 countries.

According to the 2019 UN (UNDP) report, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan are leading among the CIS countries:

The Human Development Index (HDI) is based on:

life expectancy

years of schooling

gross national income per capita.

The report also considers social security, healthcare and cultural identity, crime rate, environmental protection, and participation of people in decision-making.

Annual reports on human development have been published by UNDP since 1990.
