As of 1 January 2019, there were 1,868,000 children under 18 in Belarus.

The number of children by age

(in % to the total population of children under 18 as of 1 January 2019):

0-6 – 42.5%

7-14 – 43.3%

15-17 – 14.2%

Most births involves a second, third and subsequent children. More boys than girls are born every year.

A total of 94,000 children were born in 2018 (48,000 boys and 46,000 girls), including 1,042 twins and 13 triplets.

Childbirth lump-sum payments:*

- for the first child - Br2,240.2 (ten base amounts), for second and third children - Br3,136.28 (14 base amounts),

- monthly child benefits for the first child - Br362.46, for the second and subsequent children - Br414.24, disabled child - Br466.02.
