Purim is one of most important Jewish holidays. This year it is marked on 9-10 March. During the festival Jews gather in a synagogue to listen to the Book of Esther. In the evening they put on fancy clothes and light candles.

The most popular treat during Purim is hamantash (literally Haman's ears). It is a filled-pocket pastry of triangular shape. The most popular fillings include raisins, poppy seeds and honey.
