New Year charity campaign Our Children

The New Year charity campaign Our Children held under the aegis of the Belarus President is running in Belarus from 11 December 2017 through 10 January 2018.

During the campaign, state and local government officials visit foster homes, foster and adoptive families, and hospitals to help kids solve pressing problems and bring them gifts.

Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov gave New Year gifts to students of the Molodechno Special Boarding School on 20 December as part of the nationwide charity campaign. Andrei Kobyakov extended his New Year and Christmas greetings and wished the students and teachers all the good things in the coming year.

Belarusian rescue workers visited the Chekhovshchina Boarding School affiliated with the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry. Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko arrived on 20 December. He extended his New Year wishes and brought gifts for the children.

Grodno Oblast Governor Vladimir Kravtsov took part in a charity party in a Grodno boarding school for visually impaired children. He presented gifts on behalf of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee and public organizations. The kids staged a New Year performance.

Cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky also joined the Our Children charity campaign. He visited a family-type foster home in the agrotown of Gorodets, Shklov District.

Representatives of the Belarusian Interior Ministry headed by Interior Minister Igor Shunevich visited a Radoshkovichi boarding school for orphaned children and children left without parental care. The kids received New Year gifts from the minister.

Chairman of the State Property Committee Andrei Gayev sent greetings to students of Minsk Special School for Hearing-Impaired Children No. 14 on 21 December. He donated books for the school library brought out by the Petrus Brovka Belorusskaya Encyclopedia publishing house. They are worth over Br300. Another Br12,000 will be earmarked to buy hardware and software, repair the library and the school hall.
