Minsk is hosting the 4th Christmas festival of batleika and puppet theaters Nyabyosy [Heavens] on 4-5 January. The event has been organized upon the blessing of Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. The founders of the festival are the Minsk Eparchy, St. Elizabeth's Convent, and the sisterhood of Holy Martyr Grand Duchess Elisaveta. It is organized with support of the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Minsk City Hall. The festival is on the list of activities under the program of cooperation between the Culture Ministry and the Belarusian Orthodox Church for 2018-2021. The artistic director of the festival is Aleksandr Zhdanovich, an actor of the Maksim Gorky National Academic Drama Theater.
