Zimbabwean company ready to buy about 200 trucks from Belarusian MAZ

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – The Zimbabwean company Ajara Trucking is ready to buy about 200 trucks made by the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ, BelTA learned from the company's head Ronald Ajara on 17 January.

The executive said: “We intend to cooperate with MAZ, which makes trucks compliant with Euro-2 and Euro-3 standards, which fully match the environmental protection strategy being implemented in Zimbabwe now. If we talk about plans of the company, we need from 50 to 200 trucks, but Zimbabwe may need as many as 1,000 trucks.”

The MAZ trucks will be used by the mining industry, for transporting fuel, grain, and fertilizers.

Ronald Ajara took part in a meeting of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa with representatives of the Belarusian private sector. The meeting was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting focused on opportunities for advancing Belarus-Zimbabwe trade and economic cooperation. Representatives of Belarusian and Zimbabwean companies discussed business opportunities.
