
MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik believes that a visit of the delegation of the Belarusian Industry Ministry to Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of Russia will contribute towards the strengthening of the industrial dialogue between the regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.
Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko traveled to Russia's Nizhny Novgorod on a working visit. He was accompanied by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi. Dmitry Kharitonchik headed a delegation of the Industry Ministry. It included the heads of the Belarusian machine-building flagships: Integral, MAZ, BATE, BKM-Holding, Mogilevliftmash, Amkodor, MTZ, Gomselmash, and others.
The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Resources of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast signed a cooperation agreement. The document provides for cooperation in providing agricultural organizations of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast with agricultural machines, spare parts, and maintenance. It also envisages the development of comprehensive cooperation in personnel training and scientific research in agricultural machinery.
Dmitry Kharitonchik visited the industrial enterprises of Nizhny Novgorod: Plant Krasnoye Sormovo and GAZ Group and also took part in a ceremony to launch the tram MiNiN made by the Belarusian-Russian joint venture Nizhecotrans. Options for economic cooperation and promising joint projects were discussed at the business forum.








"Enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry are interested in promoting ties with Russian partners. Cooperation with Nizhny Novgorod companies holds a great promise. I am confident that by expanding cooperation and increasing competitiveness, our enterprises will be able to contribute towards strengthening the technological sovereignty and economic security of Belarus and Russia," the deputy minister stressed.
In January-November of last year bilateral trade between the Industry Ministry enterprises and Russia's Nizhny Novgorod Oblast rose by 69.4% year-on-year. Exports surged by 61.2%, with Belarus having a trade surplus.
