MOSCOW, 13 March (BelTA) – Members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are in talks over establishment of a big transnational corporation, Alexander Subbotin, Member of the EEC Board (Minister) in charge of Industry and Agriculture, told reporters following the meeting of the industry ministers of the EAEU member states in Moscow on 13 March, BelTA has learned.
“As far as major projects are concerned, we are in talks over establishment of a Eurasian transnational corporation. We are considering the very possibility of such a corporation and the economic sector where at least the first pilot project will be implemented following in the footsteps of Airbus in the European Union, MAN, Porsche and others.”
According to Alexander Subbotin, the EAEU is running several smaller projects now. One of them is creation of a single jewelry brand. Another project is setting up a holding company to produce lighting equipment. “It turned out that the market is not that mature and that we have the necessary capacities, technology and solutions in this field,” he noted. In his words, space research is another successful avenue of cooperation in the EAEU. Apart from that, programs were drafted to develop a Eurasian tractor, an engine and a combine harvester.
