Topical issues of Belarusian-Russian cooperation discussed in Minsk

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas and Russia's Ambassador to Belarus Mikhail Babich discussed topical issues of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The parties reviewed the preparation for the forthcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State due to be held in Brest in December and also tomorrow's meeting of the high-level group of the Union State Council of Ministers.

In January-September 2018 the trade between Russia and Belarus amounted to $26.3 billion, up by 13.2% over the same period a year prior. Russia is Belarus' main trading partner. In January-September 2018 Russia accounted for 49.4% of Belarus' foreign trade in goods, 38.3% of the country's export and 59.3% of import (in January-September 2017 Russia's share totaled 51.3% in Belarus' foreign trade, 45% in the country's export and 56.8% in import).
