Technological problems impede access of Belarusian companies to Russian market

MOSCOW, 5 June (BelTA) – Problems with the access of Belarusian companies and goods to the Russian market are not political, but technological and need to be resolved. State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota made the statement after a session of the High Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers on 5 June, BelTA has learned.

The official said: “Some questions were related to better merchandise trade, mainly the access of Belarusian goods and companies to the Russian market: participation in government procurement contracts, tenders, and so on. The problem is not political but purely technological. For instance, if we talk about Russian digital trade platforms, there are technological issues with the adjustment of access forms and some other things.”

The meeting also touched upon the intergovernmental agreement on recognizing bank guarantees, which government procurement procedures in Russia require. “It is a purely technological matter, too,” the official noted.

Grigory Rapota added that the High Level Group passed the agendas of the forthcoming sessions of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The next session of the High Level Group will take place in September.
