MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Technological cooperation with foreign countries friendly to the EAEU is important, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
"At the current stage, technological cooperation with friendly countries is extremely important. This will help us to avoid the trap of building a "yesterday's economy". China, Vietnam, Iran, Egypt, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Cub… There are enough states in the world that are ready to cooperate with us on the basis of equality and mutual respect," Roman Golovchenko said.
According to him, the full-scale development of trade and economic cooperation with China, the alignment of the EAEU's activities with large-scale Chinese infrastructure projects fully meets the interests of the EAEU. "The immediate task is to digitize transport corridors with the People's Republic of China and improve cooperation in the sanitary and phytosanitary areas. This will facilitate the access of our goods to the Chinese market and vice versa," the prime minister emphasized.
Belarus is also in favor of building a full-fledged dialogue with Uzbekistan. "The initiatives of our Uzbek friends to join the Eurasian programs and projects, to conclude an agreement on the elimination of technical barriers in mutual trade between Uzbekistan and the EAEU should be implemented as soon as possible and become a clear example of the openness of the Eurasian Economic Union to interaction with our other partners in the CIS," the Belarusian head of government said.
