
MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – The St. Petersburg delegation's visit will give a new boost to the advancement of relations between Minsk and St. Petersburg. Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev mentioned it as he met with St. Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov on 20 April, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Kukharev and Aleksandr Beglov are expected to sign a roadmap on cooperation between St. Petersburg and Minsk in trade, economy, science, technology, and culture in 2024-2026.

The Minsk mayor noted: “All of us are connected by common roots. This is why it is very important that such events are held today to involve an ever increasing number of people into our cooperation. This event will give an additional impulse to the advancement of our friendly and brotherly relations.”

The delegation from Russia will stay in Minsk for two days. St. Petersburg representatives are expected to get familiar with the Belarusian capital's practices in education, healthcare, culture, social policy, and beautification and with Minsk's experience in the area of transport and information technologies. The St. Petersburg delegation will also share their accomplishments in these fields.

Apart from that, the administrations of Minsk's Tsentralny District and St. Petersburg's Tsentralny District are expected to sign an activity plan on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, education, social and cultural affairs in 2023-2025. An agreement on cooperation will also be signed between the Minsk city water company and the St. Petersburg city water company. The Minsk City Cancer Clinic and the St. Petersburg clinical applied science center for specialized kinds of medical aid (oncology) will sign a cooperation agreement.
Business contacts are being explored and established as part of the St. Petersburg Days in Minsk, which are taking place on 19-21 April.
