MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) - The share of non-cash payments has been growing in Belarus, BelTA learned from the National Bank of Belarus.
The share of non-cash transactions accounted for 58.7%, and the share of cash operations for 41.3% of the total in the first quarter of 2020. The share of non-cash transactions was 54.9% in 2019, and 13.1% in 2010.
Non-cash transactions also outnumber cash payments and made up 90.5% (449.9 million transactions) of the total in Q1 2020. Cash transactions made up 9.5% (47.5 million transactions). For comparison: non-cash transactions accounted for 49.7% in 2010, and went up to 88.8% in 2019.
