MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are preparing for the Forum of Regions that usually draws lots of participants, Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko told BelTA following the talks between the delegations of the Belarusian and Russian governments in the Palace of Independence in Minsk.
He noted that the forum will take place in Belarus in late September.
“The two countries are getting ready for the forum. I believe this year's Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russ will see at least the same number of participants and signed contracts as last year,” Vladimir Semashko said.
He pointed out the importance of the forum's goal to foster Belarus-Russia interregional ties.
The 6th edition of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia was held in Saint Petersburg in 2019 and featured the Belarusian and Russian presidents. Participants of the event signed more than 60 contracts worth around $500 million.
