Serbian company to help NAIP attract Balkan investment in Belarus

MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – The National Agency of Investment and Privatization (NAIP) and Serbia's UIN have signed an agreement on cooperation in the attraction of foreign direct investment from the Balkan region in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.

The parties agreed to exchange information free of charge, cooperate in searching for potential investors, consult them and together organize necessary meetings and negotiations. The Serbian company intends to conduct such activities in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia.

“The willingness of the Serbian partners to share their business experience in our country can be explained by the positive history: several years ago UIN launched a business incubator of the same name in Pukhovichi District, Minsk Oblast with a focus on social and educational projects,” the press service noted.

The National Agency of Investment and Privatization introduced the practice of such partnership non-commercial agreements in 2020. The same agreements are currently in place with two other partners, a Belarusian company with Japanese capital and a European company which sphere of activity is connected with Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.
