FANIPOL, 26 April (BelTA) – Belarus is capable of getting virtually everything it needs. Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova mentioned it while talking about import substitution as she visited Fanipol, Dzerzhinsk District, Minsk Oblast on 26 April, BelTA has learned.

The head of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament was made familiar with the operation of OOO Medivais, with the construction of a physical training and recreation complex, with the construction of a new residential area, engineering and transport infrastructure, and a secondary education institution. She also visited a local kindergarten.

Natalya Kochanova said: “I am convinced we can make everything we need today for our country and our citizens to live a normal life. Except for when it is economically inadvisable to make the goods that are not made in our country.”

The senator noted that as far as import substitution is concerned, Belarus maintains tight manufacturing cooperation with the Russian Federation. “We know that within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia we implement programs in manufacturing sector and agriculture. In other words, today we actively work in all these areas. As far as our country is concerned, I am confident and I can see it myself when I visit enterprises and meet with people that we are capable of providing ourselves virtually with everything we need. I repeat virtually everything our citizens and our country as a whole need,” she said.
