MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – A group of executives and specialists of the Russian forestry industry is in Belarus studying the country's experience of forest management. Representatives of four Russian regions are being trained at the forestry industry advanced training center, the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry told BelTA.
Over the course of one week the Russians will be made thoroughly familiar with the Belarusian system of forest administration as well as the main methods of work in forest management, forest seed farming, and forest restoration. The students have already been to the national forest selection and seed farming center and a number of forestry enterprises. On 26 June they visited a woodworking enterprise in the Begoml forestry enterprise (the enterprise uses advanced wood conversion methods) and a modern complex for farming burlap saplings in the Glubokoye experimental forestry enterprise.
Belarusian First Deputy Forestry Minister Valentin Shatravko is expected to meet with the group of executives and specialists of the Russian forestry industry on 27 June. He will talk about Belarus' forest management system.
The ministry's representatives told BelTA that educational programs of the forestry industry advanced training center are in demand among foreign specialists. The training center has signed more than a dozen of international agreements. The fact testifies to the high quality of educational services and the appeal of the Belarusian forest management experience. The forestry industry advanced training center offers career enhancement courses for executive personnel and specialists in addition to professional development courses for blue-collar workers. Some 3,000 students are trained by the forestry industry advanced training center every year on the average.More about Economy
