Rumas, IMF mission discuss Belarus' economic prospects

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – Prime Minister Sergei Rumas met with representatives of the mission of the International Monetary Fund led by Jacques Miniane on 15 November, BelTA has learned from the press service of the government.

Top on the agenda was cooperation between Belarus and this international organization.

Sergei Rumas updated the IMF experts on the state of things in the country's economy, with a focus on three matters that are of greatest importance to Belarus. “First of all, the balance between maintaining economic growth on the one hand, and accumulating reserves, reducing the debt and economic vulnerabilities, on the other. Second, external uncertainty that has an impact on our economy. Third, structural transformation and the government's program,” he noted.
