Remittances to Belarus down by 12.1% in Q3 2018

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – The amount of remittances sent to Belarus reduced by 12.1% in Q3 2018 over the same period a year earlier, BelTA learned from the National Bank of Belarus.

In Q3 2018, Belarusian citizens received $72.6 million in remittances from abroad through international money transfer systems versus $82.6 million in Q3 2017.

Meanwhile, $45.4 million was sent from Belarus abroad in Q3 2018, virtually the same amount as in the same period a year prior.

The average amount of a money transfer to Belarus in Q3 2018 was $269.82 ($305.51 in Q3 2017). The average amount of a money transfer from Belarus was $393.18 ($396.79 in Q3 2017).

The data includes only the money sent through international money transfer services such as Western Union, Unistream, KoronaPay, MoneyGram, BLIZKO, Contact, Kolibri, Faster, Ria Money Transfer.
