MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) – Belarus' National Bank predicts the refinancing rate at 9.5%-10.5% by the end of the year, Dmitry Murin, the head of the main directorate of monetary policy and economic analysis at the National Bank, told the media, BelTA has learned.
“We should not expect the repetition of last year's events when the refinancing rate and other rates were declining fast enough. Still the possibilities for the further reducing of the refinancing rate and rates on the credit and deposit markets remain in place this year. We believe that the refinancing rate could be lowered to 9.5-10.5% APR depending on the macroeconomic situation in the country,” Dmitry Murin noted.
According to him, Belarus' National Bank will continue the monetary policy it has pursued in the last three years.
