Reconstruction of Belarus' largest power substation to end by late 2020

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – The reconstruction of the 750kV power substation Belorusskaya is supposed to be finished by the end of 2020. The plans were discussed as Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich visited the Staryye Dorogi branch of the Minsk Oblast electric company Minskenergo, the ministry's press service told BelTA.

A meeting with a Slovenian delegation took place during the visit. The delegation included Riko Company CEO Janez Skrabec. Riko Company is the general contractor for the project to reconstruct the power substation. The sides discussed progress in implementing the project, went on a tour of the 750kV outdoor switchgear, and evaluated the scale of the facility and the volume of work.

Work to reconstruct the power substation began in 2017 and is supposed to be finished by the end of 2020 in line with the contract.

The project's implementation will allow increasing the reliability of operation of the Belarusian power grid.
