Positive trends continue in Belarusian production sector

MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) – Positive trends continue in the production sector, BelTA learned from Belarusian First Deputy Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar.

Industrial output growth rate totaled 107.9% in January-September 2021, thus contributing more than two thirds of the GDP growth. The production sector continues demonstrating positive trends. Industrial enterprises do not operate simply to inflate their stock in storage: the stock in storage is at its lowest since 2009. Profits and profit margins are on the rise. All of it allows the enterprises to be more confident about the future and streamline their business processes, Yuri Chebotar noted.

In his words, results of the latest opinion polls, which are regularly conducted by the Economy Ministry's Economics Institute, indicate the steady nature of the observed positive trends in the production sector.

The official said: “The industrial optimism index remains in the green. It means the managers have a positive outlook on short-term prospects from the point of view of demand for merchandise, output, workload, stock in storage, and so on. The availability of a backlog of orders allows most of the heads of the industrial enterprises to make plans to preserve the current level of employment. It is worth noting that the industrial optimism index has increased in the Russian Federation and countries of the European Union. This invigoration also creates additional opportunities for the Belarusian economy.”
