Polish business sets eyes on Belarus

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – The interest of Polish entrepreneurs in Belarus is on the rise, member of the Board of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Krzysztof Senger said at the opening of the 22nd edition of the Belarusian-Polish economic forum Good Neighborliness on 7 June, BelTA has learned.

“The Polish Investment and Trade Agency supports Polish companies in their trade and investment activities. In 2016, the government set an ambitious task for us to set up a global network of 70 foreign trade offices that would redefine the way we support Polish businesses on external markets. Belarus was named one of strategic markets. After we opened our office here in 2018, the interest of the Polish business in Belarus has increased dramatically,” Krzysztof Senger said.

In his word, the agency's task is to increase trade between the two countries and to bring more Polish investors to Belarus. One of the examples of successful cooperation is an investment project launched in Belarus by the Polish furniture maker Szynaka.

A series of cooperation agreements are to be signed between the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the forum. “I am glad that the Polish Investment and Trade Agency is taking part in this forum and that we are advancing our economic relations with our neighbor Belarus to a new level. It would be great to team up with Belarusian business promotion agencies to arrange a series of business forums on IT or agriculture and food, for example, to build on the results of the ongoing big forum,” he added.
