MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) - Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko revealed the secret of successful cooperation between Belarus and Russia's Krasnodar Krai as he spoke with the media after his meeting with Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev in Sochi on 7 June, BelTA has learned.

“The Krasnodar Krai governor defined a model of cooperation which has worked. We met together in November 2022 and by that time we had worked out a road map of areas to work on. It was then that we discussed in detail that the mechanism of cooperation should be implemented through the organization of joint production of the range of equipment that was in demand both in Krasnodar Krai and nearby regions. To do this, the region's leadership provided the most comfortable conditions for financial support of such projects. Today, in Krasnodar Krai we enjoy one of the most privileged terms for industrial assembly. We can successfully compete with all manufacturers,” Roman Golovchenko said.

According to him, tractor production followed this path. “We think we need to make 1,000 tractors this year. There are plans to develop this production. Almost the same scenario applies to combine harvesters. Today we discussed how to intensify work on a similar algorithm in terms of passenger transport - gas-powered buses with a large capacity. Including electric transport of course. There are contracts for the supply of trolleybuses. In mid-summer, a Belarusian tram will be sent for tests, and we hope that this will be followed by deliveries. There is also interest in electric buses,” the prime minister said.
