MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – The price for natural gas for Belarus will be established for a three-year period, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko told reporters commenting on the talks between the presidents of Belarus and Russia held a day before, BelTA has learned.
Roman Golovchenko emphasized that Belarus is quite happy with the price it will pay for natural gas. “I want to reassure that households and the economy will be comfortable with the price. I think that it is necessary to stop playing up this issue. This is a routine matter. The commercial price that was agreed on yesterday by the presidents is based on the Belarusian proposal,” said the prime minister.
According to him, in the near future the relevant ministries will sign commercial agreements for the supply of natural gas to Belarus. “For the first time, the price will be determined for a three-year period, so that there will be a certain stability and we can proceed from a specific figure in our macroeconomic calculations. The price is not a cornerstone issue,” the head of government noted.
