PM: Agriculture receives adequate support in Belarus

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) - The state provides adequate support to the agriculture industry, Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said as he addressed a gala event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Agriculture and Food Ministry and to honor best workers in the Palace of the Republic in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“Most Belarusians hail from rural areas, have their roots there and know how hard the work of a farmer is. The state does a lot for agriculture helps buy new equipment, build modern farms, but, unfortunately, the work of farmers does not become easier. The country is very grateful to agricultural workers for their contribution to the export growth, for the country's food security, the thing the independence of every country depends on. I wish happy professional holiday to all agricultural workers and wish you good health, happiness and new successes for the benefit of our dear Belarus,” Sergei Rumas said.

The prime minister also took part in a ceremony to present professional excellence awards to best agricultural workers.
