Plans to launch traditional Chinese medicine project in Belarus

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – A letter of intent to implement a project in traditional Chinese medicine was signed at the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone on 9 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the industrial park.

The document was signed by future founders of the Novoera biotechnology company, the park administration and the Industrial Park Development Company.

The Novoera joint venture will be set up in the Great Stone park. Taking part in the project will be the Jintai Institute of Culture and Economics, Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and one of Beijing-based pharmaceutical technology companies.

“The project provides for establishment of a Eurasian knowledge exchange center and a center for diagnostics and treatment based on traditional Chinese medicine, as well as a factory to produce medicines to treat the new type of the coronavirus infection,” the press service said.

The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone is a special economic zone with a special legal regime. It is located 25km away from Minsk. The industrial park is home to 68 resident companies from 14 countries. The park's priority development areas include mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, new materials, logistics, digital commerce, big data storage and processing.
