Plans to address discord on Eurasian Economic Union agreement on navigation seals soon

MOSCOW, 3 September (BelTA) – Differences of opinion on the draft agreement on using navigation seals for tracking freight transportation in the Eurasian Economic Union are supposed to be addressed soon, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission after Member of the Board (Minister) for Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Oleg Pankratov met with First Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia Ruslan Davydov.

Oleg Pankratov informed Ruslan Davydov about the work and the approaches the Eurasian Economic Commission uses in the course of drafting the agreement. The document is nearly ready but experts still have some differences of opinion, which are supposed to be addressed soon.

Oleg Pankratov and Ruslan Davydov discussed the formation of a list of measures required to address differences of opinion and disputable situations between agencies. Approaches to preparing strategic guidelines on the development of Eurasian economic integration in the period till 2025 were also discussed. The strategic guidelines will contain all the measures of current interest for the customs services and for the private sector as well as future areas of work. Ruslan Davydov noted that the best international practices of customs administration should be taken into account in the course of development of the strategic guidelines.
