Petrozavodsk-made Amkodor forwarders get status of Russian products

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Amkodor forwarders produced by Amkodor-Onego in Russia's Petrozavodsk have received the status of Russian products, BelTA learned from the company.

The status will apply to Amkodor-2662 with the operating capacity of 14 tonnes and Amkodor-2682 with the operating capacity of 16 tonnes. All in all, the company in Russia has plans to roll off five forwarder models, three harvester models, two skidder models and two models of log loaders.

“The decision to recognize several models of log loaders as Russian products will enable the company to use subsidies of Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade in order to offer its customers preferential terms,” Amkodor-Onego Director General Sergei Gaityukevich said.

The Russian government provides subsidies to producers of logging equipment. These subsidies allow leasing out products on preferential terms. Leasing companies offer their customers discounts on advance payments which equal 10-15% of the equipment price. This program is upheld by 34 organizations in Russia.

In addition to that, discounts on sales contracts are also subsidized by the government starting from 2019. “This will make our products more attractive on the Russian market of logging machines. The capacity of this market is huge,” Sergei Gaityukevich believes.

The holding company Amkodor comprises 30 enterprises that produce over 120 models and modifications of agricultural machines, road construction and maintenance machines, machines for housing and utilities industry, forestry industry, production sector, logistics, and fuel and energy complex.

Amkodor-Onego was registered on 31 August 2018. The production floor of the Onego tractor plant was acquired to set up the enterprise in March 2019.
