MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – More than 75% of grasses have been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 29 May, first grass was cut on the area of 267,200 hectares, which is 20.1% of the plan. All in all, more than 75% of grasses were harvested from the area of 201,200 hectares. Belarus harvested 9,060 tonnes of hay (0.94%), 1,039,000 tonnes of haylage (7.6%) and 132,200 tonnes of silage (0.69%). There are plans to harvest 9.6 million tonnes of grass fodder this year; at the moment 3.33% of the plan has been harvested.
Overseeding of perennial grasses was done on the area of 251,500 hectares (77.9% of the plan).
