Over 2m tonnes of fuel sold through Belorusneft filling stations in 2018

GOMEL, 15 January (BelTA) – Over 2 million tonnes of fuel was sold through the filling station chain of Belorusneft in 2018, which is up 12.8% from 2017, BelTA learned from the press service of the company.

The fuel sales on the domestic market through the filling station chain in 2018 amounted to 2.34 million tonnes. This is an absolute record. In 2013 the company sold almost 2 million tonnes of fuel.

“First of all, the fuel sales grew due to the fact that Belarus is a transit country. In fact, all transit vehicles refuel in the country. Our chain offers optimal conditions for such forwarders,” said Belorusneft Deputy Director General for Hydrocarbon Raw Materials and Product Sales Sergei Kamornikov.

As for the regions, Belorusneft-Brestoblnefteprodukt and Lidanefteprodukt posted the best performance with an increase in fuel sales of about 20%. “Our cross-border filling stations played a big role in this. All types of oil products showed an increase in sales, including liquefied gas, which is considered to be more environmentally friendly. This is a strategic direction for us,” said Sergei Kamornikov.

Last year, more than 10 million cups of coffee were sold at the company's filling stations. Development of related services at filling stations will continue this year.
