MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – Belarus has no problems with selling foodstuffs abroad, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats during a session of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry board.
Leonid Zayats said: “Despite some temporary difficulties I don't see problems with selling our food products abroad. Belarusian food continues enjoying great demand due to its quality parameters. For example, the Prod Expo took place in Moscow not so long ago. Our processing enterprises brought over 30 gold medals from the expo. I think it is a decent confirmation of the high quality of our foods. This is why we intend to continue developing, increasing foreign currency earnings, and bolstering our economy.”
In his words, every region of Belarus has reserves for increasing the output of agricultural products. “For instance, a pig-breeding complex was opened in Brest Oblast a short time ago. It will allow increasing the output of meat. There are also plenty of reserves in Vitebsk Oblast, Gomel Oblast, Grodno Oblast, Minsk Oblast, and Mogilev Oblast. For instance, in 2023 we intend to increase the output of milk, products of the poultry industry and the crop farming industry,” the deputy prime minister said.
