Nazarbayev promises full support for EAEU

MOSCOW, 25 February (BelTA) - Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich met with first president of Kazakhstan, honorary chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Nursultan Nazarbayev in Nur-Sultan on 25 February, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.

“The parties discussed further development of relations between the states in the Eurasian Economic Union,” the press service informed. “As Nursultan Nazarbayev noted, Kazakhstan has always supported the idea of economic integration and supported it. The SEEC honorary chairman assured Mikhail Myasnikovich that he would provide full support for the union,” the press service noted.

For his part, Mikhail Myasnikovich informed Nursultan Nazarbayev about the talks with the leadership of Kazakhstan that he had the other day and about the plans for further work of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Mikhail Myasnikovich held talks with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Askar Mamin, Chairwoman of the Senate Dariga Nazarbayeva on 24 February. “The parties discussed strategic areas of the Eurasian economic integration through 2025, improvement of the unified framework of technical regulation in the Eurasian Economic Union, and also the regulations of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Special attention was paid to removing barriers in the EAEU domestic market,” the press service said.

Earlier, Mikhail Myasnikovich visited Kyrgyzstan and Armenia to hold talks with the authorities of the countries. The chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission is expected to pay a working visit to Belarus on 27-28 February.
