MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – Mozyr Oil Refinery will reduce the amount of oil it will refine in May down to 0.5 million tonnes, BelTA learned from Aleksandr Tishchenko, Press Secretary of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim.
According to the source, in May Mozyr Oil Refinery will undergo scheduled repairs without shutting down. The enterprise will process over 0.5 million tonnes of oil in May as a result. In April the enterprise processed about 1 million tonnes of oil.
The spokesman noted that due to the current conditions and the situation on the market of oil products the repairs will be less costly.
Belarus' other oil refinery – OAO Naftan – will operate as usual in May since the company has a different schedule for repairs.
BelTA reported earlier that Belarus intends to get 1.13 million tonnes of oil from Russia in May. Work with alternative sources will continue. A tanker carrying 80,000 tonnes of oil Belarus has bought from Saudi Aramco is expected to deliver this oil to the Klaipeda port, Lithuania on 11 May.
