BEIJING, 9 October (BelTA - People's Daily) - The number of American enterprises that have confirmed their presence at the upcoming second China International Import Expo (CIIE) is greater than that eyed by the last expo, Chinanews.com reported.
American multinational pharmaceutical company Pfizer will bring its innovative drugs and medical treatments to the expo, including anti-tumor drugs, antibiotics, and vaccines, among others.
Wu Kun, head of Pfizer China, said as a global platform for trade cooperation and exchange, the expo has delivered new development opportunities to various industries.
He pointed out that as China has continuously simplified approval procedures of new overseas pharmaceuticals in recent years, foreign medications are being introduced into the Chinese market at a faster pace, which is good news for pharmaceutical companies.
Duan Xiaoying, president of General Electric (GE) China, said CIIE is a good platform for companies to exhibit their products and technologies, and for foreign governments, purchasers and relevant organizations to seek and strengthen cooperation and exchanges.
GE will release for the first time its cutting-edge solutions and commercial outcomes generated by its products. In addition, it will also unveil solutions to develop clean energy tailored for China, Duan disclosed.
Dong Chongqing, senior marketing manager of Kohler Engines China, said the company has applied for an area of 50 square meters to display its products at the second CIIE, an increase of 32 square meters from the last expo.
During the first CIIE, Kohler Engines received an order for nearly 600 engines from Chinese machinery company SUMEC Group Corporation (SUMEC), a Fortune Global 500 company.
Kohler Engines' business in China grew a lot driven by the development of Internet and new energy in the country, said Dong.
Analysts said the attraction of the Chinese market is increasing, despite the slowing global economy and growing uncertainties, adding that the CIIE will not only provide an opportunity for companies from across the world to explore the Chinese market, but also to introduce new energy into Chinese economy.More about Economy
