Minsk's Partizansky District, Georgian city Poti to advance cooperation

MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – An agreement on cooperation between the administration of Minsk's Partizansky District and the administration of the Georgian city of Poti was signed as a result of the session of the Belarus-Georgia intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation on 19 February, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by the head of the Partizansky District administration Valery Voronitsky and Poti Mayor Gocha Kurdgelia.

A memorandum of cooperation and technical support was also signed between the Minsk metro enterprise and OOO Tbilisi Transport Company.

Vladimir Dvornik

Summing up results of the session of the intergovernmental commission, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Dvornik noted the potential between the two countries had not been depleted. “We should enhance all relations: not only humanitarian ones, which are important for developing the country, but economic ones as well,” he said.

Natia Turnava

Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava noted that the sides had discussed various matters concerning economy, energy, transport, tourism, healthcare, culture, education, and innovations. In her words, Belarus-Georgia relations have reached a high level in the last few years. Georgia views Belarus as an important and reliable partner and aspires towards even deeper bilateral cooperation.
