Minskenergo exports exceed $1.5m in 2020

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – In January-September 2020, the exports of electricity and heating services of the Minsk Oblast energy company Minskenergo to non-residents amounted to $1,633,900 in the total exports of services, BelTA learned from the company's public relations sector.

The main export item of the company is power and heat supply services to non-residents in Belarus. These are consular institutions, representative offices of foreign organizations, and so on. In 2019, the export totaled $1,780,600.

The amount of energy consumed by non-resident customers is determined independently. Customers' needs are dictated by equipment, the energy consumption policy of the state of which the customer is a resident, as well as global social trends.

“This year, a difficult epidemiological situation has a significant impact on the export of services, including by Minskenergo. However, at the end of the year the company plans to reach the export level not lower than the one last year,” the company said.

Minskenergo is the Belarusian largest regional energy company that generates a quarter of the country's electricity and heat produced in the system of the state enterprise Belenergo. It carries out complex activities aimed at ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers in Minsk and Minsk Oblast.
