MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) – Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant plans to enter the EU market with its Euro-6 buses Neman, Deputy Director General for Sales at the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant Yekaterina Stashuk told a press conference on 24 July, BelTA has learned.

“We are aiming at the market of the European Union with our Euro-6 buses Neman. We are currently working on the line of middle-class buses for the European market, concluding dealer agreements with companies from the European Union. Our major concern is certification. We are looking for partners that could assist us in the area,” Yekaterina Stashuk said.

Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant plans to strengthen cooperation with traditional partners. This envisages the fulfillment of obligations on the existing portfolio of orders for the delivery of commercial and special-purpose vehicles, aftersales services, development of new areas of cooperation, and a long-term partnership strategy. Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant also intends to develop a dealer network. “We plan to develop cooperation with producers of attachments from non-CIS countries. We are also working on new projects with partners-producers of weapon systems and sophisticated special-purpose equipment. The plans include the development of lightly-armored and tactical vehicles for exports. These vehicles were developed in line with the equipments of our law-enforcement bodies. Their finalization is needed for the supplies to the world market taking into consideration individual needs of every client,” the deputy director general said.

Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant is celebrating its anniversary this year. On 23 July 1954 a special design engineering bureau was set up at Minsk Automobile Plant to develop heavy and superheavy vehicles for the needs of the army. The bureau became a founder of Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. Today, the plant is one of the world's leading companies specializing in the production of special wheeled chassis and tractor trucks. The company's vehicles are used in the strategic missile forces, army forces, air defense artillery, radio reconnaissance, engineer troops, and logistic support services.
