Minsk, Tbilisi to sign program of cooperation for 2018-2020

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) - Minsk and Tbilisi are set to sign a trade and economic cooperation program for 2018-2020 on 21 March, Minsk Vice Mayor Alexander Krepak told the media, BelTA has learned.

The document will be signed during a meeting between Minks Mayor Andrei Shorets and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze which will be held during the Days of Minsk in the Georgian capital.

The program defines the areas of partnership in economy, tourism, culture, education, transportation, and housing. Thus, the cities intend to share experiences in the area of public services, maintenance and repair of housing stock, energy saving, high technology and innovations, and also to exchange investment proposals, advertising and information products.

The cities are set to hold joint business forums, roundtables on tourism, to host theaters on tours, exhibitions by art school students, musical contests, and to implement museum projects.

The parties also plan to cooperate in supplementary education for adults, to participate in internship programs and scientific conferences. In the transport area the promising avenue of interaction may be the supply of electro-buses and trolleybuses made by Belkommunmash, the development of the infrastructure for environmentally friendly passenger transport.

The Days of Minsk will take place in Tbilisi on 21-23 March. Minsk will showcase its industrial, investment and tourist potential at the Georgian-Belarusian business forum.
