MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Minsk Motor Plant is in talks to set up assembly plants in Ukraine and Cuba, Director General of the Minsk Motor Plant Holding Managing Company Alexander Rogozhnik told the media on 15 March, BelTA has learned.
“The talks are underway to set up an assembly plant at Yuzhmash in Ukraine. Similar talks are held with Cuba. Mutual interests are taken into account. The projects will include the production of engines and their subsequent installation on tractors and harvesters,” said Alexander Rogozhnik.
In 2019, the company plans to increase exports by 12% in comparison with the previous year. We hope that the export growth will exceed the targets. At present we are talking over the signing of agreements with Nizhny Novgorod's GAZ and also considering the delivery of engines for Rostselmash fodder harvesters. An engine is a product of advanced technology and it needs time and a whole range of tests to start supplies to a certain company,” the director general said.
Minsk Motor Plant, which turned 55 in 2018, specializes in the production of modern three-, four-, six-, eight-cylinder diesel engines within the power range of 35 to 460 hp. Engines are delivered to 49 companies of Belarus, Russia, other CIS and non-CIS countries. They are used for the machinery of MAZ, MTZ and Amkodor. In 2018, the company produced over 43,900 engines. The company plans to produce 47,100 engines in 2019.
