Minister: Belarus' entrepreneurial policy has proved effective

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – The entrepreneurial policy in Belarus has proved its effectiveness, Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov said in his address to the business community on the occasion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

“Each country is looking for its own recipes to minimize the consequences of the pandemic and to enter a sustainable growth path. I would like to note with satisfaction that from the macroeconomic point of view, the situation in Belarus was stable and balanced for three quarters of this year. A certain margin of safety has been formed. The contribution of the private sector in a number of social and economic development targets is increasing at an outstripping rate. This means that, in general, the country's entrepreneurial policy has proved its effectiveness,” said Aleksandr Chervyakov.

According to him, the priorities for future interaction between government and business have been identified. “On the instructions of the head of state we are working to reduce the administrative burden, accelerate digitalization of public services, expand development institutions and tools to support entrepreneurs. Conditions will be created to make it as easy as possible to start a business and expand the institute of self-employment,” the minister said.

Belarus has joined the global business initiative, Global Entrepreneurship Week, for the 11th time. Thousands of people in 180 countries discuss common problems, share achievements and exchange experience in developing their businesses. “The Global Entrepreneurship Week is one of the platforms where the creative potential of the business community, governments, financial and non-financial institutions, and public organizations is translated into concrete, comprehensive and productive initiatives,” Aleksandr Chervyakov added.
