TAMBOV, 20 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi complained about the lack of communication on import substitution matters between Belarusian and Russian enterprises when he was asked by a BelTA correspondent if there are any common problems in relations with different Russian regions.
“The cornerstone topic in our cooperation is import substitution. This matter has also been touched upon at the talks with the Tambov Oblast governor today. Of course, in the face of sanctions, we would like to quickly find partners for critical component parts. Those institutions that should deal with these issues simply do not know about each other; thus, the task of such visits, face-to-face meetings, is to help them link up with each other, because both Russia and Belarus have a very broad range of products that can easily replace imports, and their quality is in no way inferior to the quality of Western products. Therefore, the common problem is communication. Communication is very good with large regions with which we have been cooperating for a long time and with which we exchange several delegations a year,” the ambassador said.
“The time when some regions of Russia were overlooked by us is over. Now all regions are important for us, we will try to pay due attention to all of them,” said Dmitry Krutoi.
