Kobyakov: Belarus has chosen the right five-year priorities

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus' midterm priorities are the right-chosen ones, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he commented on the results of the 5th Belarusian People's Congress in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“We have a good production and personnel potential. We have good infrastructure and a social and political situation. We have stability and people's confidence that the majority of the decisions are the ones the country needs. This all means a lot. We have outlined new areas of development for the next five years. I am confident that they have been rightly chosen,” noted Andrei Kobyakov.

In his words, this gives confidence that Belarus will make economic headway in the next five years. “Someone wants it two times better. Someone would like to see a 1.5-time progress. We believe that 12-15% that are envisaged in the main provisions of the country's social and economic development program are sufficient. The plans we have announced taking into account the concrete development trends are real and achievable. If there is a possibility to make it better, we will do it. In a worse scenario we will do our best to secure the fulfillment of our plans. Everything depends on us, people, intentions, wishes, and the right decisions of the authorities. I think everything will be alright,” the PM said.
