
MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) - Kazakhstan is interested in intensifying cooperation with Belarus in industry and agriculture, Svetlana Lyubetskaya, head of the working group on cooperation with the parliament of Kazakhstan at the Belarusian parliament, told reporters in Minsk on 16 December, BelTA has learned.
Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Valery Mitskevich met with the delegation of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The parties discussed the inter-parliamentary contacts, cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries in international organizations, ways of advancing Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in trade, economy and humanitarian matters. Svetlana Lyubetskaya hosted a meeting with the Kazakhstan delegation at the House of Representatives in Minsk on 15 December.
"The meetings aim to assist our enterprises, organizations, including educational institutions in the search for the most acceptable interesting and mutually beneficial ways of cooperation. Yesterday we discussed issues, in particular, related to the assistance at the level of parliaments for industrial cooperation. We visited the engineering giant MAZ, saw the technological line, talked over further cooperation, including the export of educational services. Since clusters are a popular product today, we are considering these issues as a package," Svetlana Lyubetskaya noted.
A parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan is visiting Belarus on 15-16 December. The program of the visit envisages meetings with representatives of the House of Representatives. Kazakhstan's MPs are set to visit Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), the agricultural complex Dzerzhinsky, get familiar with the products made by the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom.
"Today the delegation from Kazakhstan pans to visit the full-cycle agricultural enterprise. Our partners expressed interest in this. We would also like to showcase them the achievements of our national agricultural sector," the MP added.
