Investment cooperation suggested as agenda of next Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia

ST PETERSBURG, 18 July (BelTA) – It may be a good idea to dedicate the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia to investment cooperation. Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich made the relevant statement at the plenary session of the 6th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.

The 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will take place in Belarus in 2020. “Investment activity is a formula of development and progress. I suggest organizing the next forum of regions with this agenda,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

Mikhail Myasnikovich remarked that Belarus and Russia had done a lot of serious steps towards each other on the way of forming common economic space. “At the same time it is necessary to more actively switch to investment cooperation, expand manufacturing cooperation, and most importantly create joint Belarusian-Russian clusters – in petrochemical industry, pharmaceutics, flax industry, and other areas of mutual interest,” the speaker said.

“Thus, we will not be dependent on political moods of third countries and will greatly enhance the economic security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia,” Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed.
