NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
VITEBSK, 19 May (BelTA) - The 11th edition of the international economic forum Innovations. Investments. Prospects has kicked off in Vitebsk, Belarus. The forum is attended by representatives of at least ten countries in an in-person format alone, BelTA has learned.
Delegations from the Russian Federation, China, Vietnam, the UAE, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, India and Israel are taking part in the 11th economic forum. Representatives of the delegation have already had an opportunity to talk to workers of enterprises, organizations, universities and colleges of Vitebsk. The exhibition, located near the Summer Amphitheater, has featured the city's most popular and new products, technological innovations, personnel training techniques.
Innovations in mechanical engineering, medicine and pharmacy, light industry, cultural and tourist potential of the region are on display as part of the economic forum. Visitors from abroad have highly appreciated such an approach to the event, one of the important goals of which was to strengthen existing contacts and find new points of contact in mutual cooperation.
At the forum, representatives of Vitebsk Oblast and their new partners from different countries have signed seven agreements on cooperation in economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural sectors, cross-border cooperation and memorandums of intent on establishment of friendly relations between the producers of meat and dairy, linen products and educational institutions. The heads of the delegations said that interaction with the enterprises of Vitebsk Oblast would be a supplement to their economies, meet the urgent requirements of specific enterprises or regions and serve as a start for future joint projects.
Vitebsk Oblast Governor Aleksandr Subbotin noted at the opening of the forum that the initiatives and events offered at the forum would help investors determine which of them have more promising potential. “We are focused on the development of principally new productions, deep modernization and technical re-equipment of the operating enterprises, creation of highly productive jobs in all sectors of the economy. There are opportunities for joint activities in every district of our region. The enterprises of the country's northern region can be reliable partners in realization of the most advanced investment ideas,” the head of the region emphasized. He also presented awards to representatives of Vitebsk Oblast enterprises for high achievements in the development of the regional economy and to young scientists who have distinguished themselves in 2022.
