Indicators to evaluate performance of Belarusian government agencies in 2019 approved

MINSK, 2 January (BelTA) – Key performance indicators for the year 2019 have been approved by the Council of Ministers' resolution No.989 of 29 December 2018, BelTA has learned.

In particular, key indicators to evaluate performance of the central government in 2019 are now available. The number includes GDP (104% as against 2018), the export of merchandise and services (105.4%), real disposable income of individuals (103.4%), net foreign direct investments ($1.6 billion). The central bank and the central government will have to prevent inflation from going above 5% this year.

Key indicators to judge the performance of heads of central government agencies, the oblast administrations, and the Minsk city administration have also been stipulated.

The oblast administrations and the Minsk City Executive Committee are recommended to set quarterly performance indicators for heads of district administrations, town administrations, and administrations of Minsk city districts. The indicators include merchandise export, export of services, and net foreign direct investments.

Measures to secure performance targets are also stipulated. Government agencies are instructed to take measures to remove barriers, exemptions, and restrictions in mutual trade in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Union State of Belarus and Russia. More efforts are needed to utilize EAEU roadmaps and step up interaction of Russian-Belarusian working groups in the main avenues of trade and economic cooperation.

The Economy Ministry will have to work with other government agencies and the private sector to put together and forward to the Council of Ministers by 1 April a roadmap on implementing the first stage of the small and medium entrepreneurship development strategy. A concept for improving the system designed to support small and medium entrepreneurship will have to be submitted by 1 June.

The oblast administrations and the Minsk City Executive Committee will have to put together plans on developing the oblasts and the city of Minsk in 2019 by 15 January. The plans will be worked out taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals.
