Huge potential in Belarus-Zimbabwe cooperation in production sector

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Belarus-Zimbabwe cooperation in production sector has a huge potential, the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry quoted Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik as saying.

Negotiations of the Belarusian industry minister and Zimbabwean Industry and Commerce Minister Sekai Nzenza took place in Zimbabwe's capital Harare on 31 January, BelTA has learned. “I am convinced that thanks to joint efforts we will be able to implement a large number of mutually beneficial projects of interest for both countries,” Aleksandr Rogozhnik underlined.

In turn, Zimbabwean Industry and Commerce Minister Sekai Nzenza confirmed Zimbabwe's interest in Belarus' continued participation in the program on modernizing and mechanizing the local agriculture. She also mentioned the high quality of Belarusian machines and vehicles.

A number of documents concerning the production sector were signed on the second day of the state visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Zimbabwe.

Contracts were signed on shipping Belarusian tractors and grain harvesters and on supplying equipment of Belarusian make for building and modernizing grain storage facilities in Zimbabwe.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation was signed within the framework of shipments of forestry industry machines and equipment of Belarusian make to Zimbabwe.

BelTA reported earlier that a bilateral business forum took place in Harare the day before. A number of agreements concerning the production sector were signed during the forum, too.
