GRODNO, 15 June (BelTA) - Grodno Oblast and Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic are planning to establish ties in tourism and high technology. These issues were high on the agenda of a meeting between Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Kravtsov and stats secretary, deputy head for education, youth and physical education of Central Bohemia Region Milan Nemec, BelTA has learned.
A memorandum of cooperation between Grodno Oblast and Central Bohemia Region was signed during the meeting. “The main purpose of our visit is to sign the memorandum of cooperation between the regions. We hope that it will give impetus, accelerate the mutually beneficial cooperation. We will discuss specific projects later. For example, representatives of our business community are planning to visit Grodno to attend Euroregion Neman expo, Milan Nemec said.
The Chambers of Commerce of the regions maintain active ties. Moreover, the Czech side is interested in implementing joint projects in education and tourism. Belarus was also invited to cooperate with the High-Tech Park of Central Bohemian Region.
“First and foremost, there is the potential in economic cooperation, industry, mechanical engineering, manufacturing of automotive components, transportation, and logistics. We have the positive experience of interaction as we have already implemented big projects: Czechia-made equipment has been installed at the Grodno hydroelectric power station. We also need to forge cultural links,” Vladimir Kravtsov said.
The delegation of Central Bohemian Region is visiting Grodno on 14-16 June. The representatives of the Czech Republic got acquainted with the industrial potential of Grodno Oblast, visited the Grodnoinvest Free Economic Zone and other enterprises of the region.
