GOMEL, 20 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian company OAO Gomeltransneft Druzhba has finished repairing sections of the long-range oil pipeline Mozyr-Brest 3, BelTA has learned.
The company initially intended to repair a number of defects concentrated in the 17th and 30th km of the oil pipeline. The company's specialists replaced two sections of the oil pipeline as a result.
Additional examination revealed two more dangerous defects in the 7th km and the 13th km of the oil pipeline. The defects were described as manufacturing ones – a crack in the transverse weld seam and external metal loss. The defects were fixed by placing sleeves over them.
The repair work was done round-the-clock and was finished within the previously specified timeframe. The throughput capacity of the oil pipeline was reduced for the duration of repairs down to the figures the partners had agreed on.
Gomeltransneft Druzhba representatives specified the transit of Russian oil via Belarus continues in normal mode now.
